Over 300 experts are calling for safe, accurate and empowering climate-science education in classrooms.

The collective, including mental health organisations, researchers, educators, health professionals and young people, have signed an open letter to address rising disinformation and claims that “alarmist” climate-based education narratives are the cause of mental distress in younger people.

The letter references a May 2025 and 2026 Institute of Public Affairs report which recommends scaling back, or even removing, climate education from primary schools.

The letter, instigated by Eco-mind says the reports misquote research and ignore context.
