World Menstrual Hygiene Day is observed annually on May 28th to address stigma, improve education, and ensure equitable access to period products and facilities.
According to a 2024 survey conducted by Australian charity Share the Dignity, 64% of menstruators in Australia struggle to afford period products. As cost of living remains a central concern for Australians, menstrual inequity continues to prevent menstruators from being able to participate fully and equally in society.
